Widget Review :: iClip lite 2

Let me introduce you to a little gem from the wide world of widgets that are available for Mac OS X: iClip lite 2.

Don’t let the fact that it is a widget fool you — it could easily be identified as one of the most useful things around for your Mac.

What it makes it so special is the fact that it allows you to copy anything to it — text, images, and even apps — then lets you launch them with the simplicity of a double click. In fact, with the help of its built-in recorder, it automatically adds anything you copy from your computer into one of its clips. So as you may see it, it’s kind of like a launcher and a clip book — a pretty good one. It’s perfect for me because I’m such a messy Mac user who constantly loses his much-needed notes — too bad it can’t help me with my physical workspace.

It has the capacity to store up to 25 clips, and takes little processing time from your computer when running in the background. And since it’s free, you can’t go wrong with this one.

As a widget, it is perfect. No wonder it won this year’s Apple Design Award for Best Widget — it’s a small wonder for your Dashboard.

Check it out.
