Turn a Mac into an AppleTV

Yes, they finally did it. They finally managed to run the Apple TV OS in a Mac. That’s a great way to turn an expensive computer into a $300-dollar box — just kidding! The project in overall looks intriguing, and I can definitely see why it’s of great interest to various users.

You can check out the less-than-specific instructions over at Apple TV Hacks.

Now, if they only managed to make everything into a Universal Binary to give those old PPC Macs some media center love…

Oh, there’s a video!

I was thinking the other day. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way I could dedicate a portion of my MacBook’s drive to iTunes content that I could access while I travelled? All of my content is on a 500GB external drive. This would, in effect turn the MacBook into a portable tv with a built-in display.
