Rant: Just add this feature already, Apple

August 7, 2007

The following snapshot was taken from the new iMac’s site, in the wireless technology page:

I guess that Apple should know better, since not all cell phones can sync wirelessly via Bluetooth. One prime example is their own — the iPhone. This feature has been one of the most-requested ever since the iPhone was announced, but Apple is not paying attention to the consumers’ feedback, apparently. Sure, we could go on regarding how Bluetooth may be inappropriate for syncing media… but nevertheless, we want this feature. Also, is this an irony or what?

I love the iMacs, but will have to remain happy with mine. I was expecting a good subnotebook for university, but the Macbook will have to do.

As for iPhone and Bluetooth, I think it’s not a good idea. You’d sync your contacts and calendars with BT but music and videos by USB?

I think Apple wants the whole thing to be streamlined, seamless, in one place (iTunes).

One interesting point is that iTunes isn’t being taunted as part of iLife anymore.
