Hands-on, iPhone
Warning: Wall of text dead-ahead, Captain!
It’s been almost a week since I upgraded from an iPhone 3G to an iPhone 4, and wanted to share how’s everything so far.
First, hype, images, and videos cannot do the retina display justice: it’s just dazzling having that many pixels (four times the old iPhone’s) in the palm of your hand. Steve Jobs wasn’t joking around when he mentioned you’d be enjoying paper-like quality from it. No matter how hard I strain my eyes, or how close I the iPhone to my face, I simply cannot notice the pixels with ease. So unless you have Superman-like eyesight, you’ll definitely be pleased with it, to say the least.

Today marked the day that Apple finally released iOS 4: the first mobile OS for their pocket devices that has multi-tasking support and a lot of brand-new features. And guess what? Apple today also approved the next version of the popular TipAgent for iPhone. And it’s still free! Note, however, that it is exclusive to iOS 4 — I apologize to any owners of the original iPhone or iPod touch which are incompatible with the new OS.
In case you’re interested in the story behind it, it turned out that iOS 4 broke TipAgent and stopped it from functioning properly. Since iOS 4 is a very exciting update (and free to download), I decided to not just fix it — I was going to release an all-new version altogether.
In a few words, dthe new TipAgent is a complete rewrite, is more aesthetically pleasing, and starts taking advantage of features found only in iOS 4. This version does not take advantage of all the features that I wanted, but it’s a start since I wanted to have the iPhone 4 in hand to test the app as it’s in development for adding the more advanced features (I have the two year-old iPhone 3G which does not support multi-tasking) that I will be adding later.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

In celebration of the first minor update to DeskAgent (1.0.1) hitting the App Store today (and smooth progress in its first major update), I have the story about the app I’d like to share:
So let’s start by saying that I was bound to come in close contact with an Apple rep sooner or later. My newest iPad app, DeskAgent, made it to the App Store after a lengthy approval process where it was rejected more than a couple of times.
