Best of 2007

2007 brought us tons of goodies for everyone to enjoy. Let’s see the top 10 best products that were released this year in no particular order, but definitely Apple-related. Oh, and these make great gifts, too.

Pixelmator. ($59) Pixelmator was very much hyped, and really delivered: it’s one beautiful image editor that also packs a lot of power under its hood — but won’t break the piggy bank.

iPhone. ($399) Despite its shortcomings, it’s the gadget of the year. Enough said.

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. ($129) It’s pretty much a tradition by now: every couple of years Apple releases an update to Mac OS X that’s named after a big cat, and people rush out to buy it. When it’s installed, they love it and hate it at the same time. But yes, technically-speaking, each version is better than the last.

3G iPod nano. ($149-$199) When the iPod mini first came out, it secured its place as the best-selling iPod. Then, evolving its way to the nano, you still get the best-selling iPod to date. And this one’s better than ever with a bigger screen in a smaller package that also does video!

Coda. ($99 $79) Many web designer tools packed into one app. Perfect.

iPod touch. ($299-$399) The phone-less iPhone. Apparently, it’s even hotter than even Apple anticipated.

VMware Fusion. ($79.99) Leading the Windows virtualization software by more than a hair.

Aluminum iMacs. ($1199-$2299) Redesigned to resemble the iPhone’s appearance, and more powerful than ever.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. ($29.99) Great… an expansion to the most addictive game ever. There goes my time with the family. Look! A gnome!

iWork ‘08. ($79) As Microsoft fumbled the next Office release from this year to the next, iWork just keeps getting better and better. In fact, you guys previously voted it to be more-used than Office!

As a bonus, here’s an eleventh product that’s MIA up to publication date, but would’ve earned a spot in this list: Delicious Library 2. Remember, it won an ADA in its unreleased state various months ago.

Know of anything else that should’ve gone here?
