Throughout the first year there were more than 180 posts in Mac Recon, which roughly translates into one post every two days — you be the judge whether that’s a good number. Sure, there were some posts that were more popular than others, and here are the best ten of them. Traffic, graphs, dugg posts… those aren’t the main things that were taken into judgement — the feedback and well-known favorites were.

10. Software Review :: ForkLift
Curiously enough, a review did make it to the top ten. I’m guessing that’s because this one was quoted in more than one place of the web, where many users became interested in the app.
9. 12-inch PowerBook made into a media center
It is possible to achieve this… and some people were surprised.
8. MIA: iLife ‘07
The shock of this being the first year in a while that we did not see an update to iLife in January (or the first six months of the year!) was… shocking.
7. Five features missing from the iPhone
It seems like many share the same concerns, too. Hope Apple fixes these…
6. Why you should wait for the new iPod, not the iPhone & Why you should wait for the iPhone, not the iPod
Fresh from January’s iPhone announcement, many were dragged into a heavy discussion on whether the iPhone was a good buy over a futuristic iPod. But recent rumors show that the new iPods may be quite limited, in comparison…
5. 5 Mac apps for bloggers
As part of a ProBlogger group project, many Mac bloggers loved hearing about this five apps and sharing theirs.
4. The Interview with Mark Howson & the follow-up
It seems like many in the Mac community liked Mark’s projects and were interested in hearing more. By the way, the beta pass giveaway for one of his projects — MacGameBox — is still open in the follow-up interview.
3. Optimizing your work space
The foray into the world of workplace efficiency improvement. This was one of the most heavily-attacked posts because of a point of mine was misinterpreted — but that didn’t stop many from taking these tips into account.
2. Quick Setup: Mac Media Center
It turns out that in the pre-AppleTV times there was a ton of interest into modifying a computer for setting it up as a media center companion.
1. The Ultimate Mac Software List
This one remains the most popular Mac Recon article in all the internet due to how fast it spread. Because of the heavy load of traffic, a lot of feedback was received — requests, debates on the apps’ quality, hate mail, etc… The huge wave of traffic even knocked down the server for more than a couple of hours.
