Whether you find Dashboard useless — or just a system resources hog — here’s the trick for a quick and easy way to kill off the poor Dashboard by typing the following into the Terminal:
For killing it:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
For bringing it back:
